The
Guest House is situated on the corner of the island
and the view is classic South Pacific with lagoons,
reefs and little islands. The Guest House complex
is still not complete (mid-2006 with construction
of another 4 rooms underway and a separate Haus
Kuk planned for the future but dont let
that discourage you from coming to stay as currently
there are 6 operational rooms for accommodation,
a functioning shower and toilet block and a small
kitchen and dining area.
As you would expect with a new Guest House the
bedding, mosquito nets and curtains are all nice
and fresh and the rooms have flyscreens. In the
most recently constructed building of two rooms,
both have their own pleasant outdoor space/veranda.
The older building has 4 rooms, again
with open areas for relaxing, a dining area and
a small kitchen. The rooms, toilet and shower
and common areas are all very nice and clean.
Power is by generator, there are electric lights
but lanterns are also available.

Open
since 1991 the Lodge offers two types of traditional
style accommodation made almost solely from bush
materials:- Large guesthouse with 4 rooms on the
ground floor and a large open area upstairs suitable
for a group. This building contains a spacious
dining room for guests and also has an excellent
spacious outdoor verandah where you can sip your
tea or coffee while gazing out on the beachlife.
The nearby bungalow with a double and twin room
also has a small terrace for guests to relax on.
Maximum guests 20.
Mansava is a lovely, relaxing place, and Helen
& Bostons hospitality is wonderful.
Many cruising yachts and even some large Cruise
Ships anchor off Mansava. They can arrange traditional
dances and other cultural activities.

This
guesthouse is located on the rarely visited and
pristine Tingwon Island almost 30km due west from
New Hanover and some 6 hours by boat from Kavieng.
A stop over en-route at one of the two guest houses
at the Tsoi Islands is recommended. Positioned
in the village youll meet many friendly
people. This guesthouse has two buildings; One
bungalow made of bush materials has two single
rooms while the iron-roof building
has three rooms two twins and a triple.
Because meals are included in the tariff its
a cheap place to stay. A real place to experience
PNGs genuine island culture and hospitality.

Guesthouse is located in Tatau Village, Tatau
Island in the Tabar Islands of New Ireland. The
islands of Tabar boast of cultural practices which
they maintain and practice to this day.
New Ireland Art Malagan Carvings
from the Tabar Islands are extraordinary art objects
which are treasured the world over. One of New
Irelands renown artists of our time, Edward
Sale, lives and creates just 500m from A^di Guesthouse.
Other master carvers of Tabar are Maris Memenga
and the late Leppan.
Culture and Tradition The Kuk people
on Tatau Island are carefree, friendly and steeped
in the culture and tradition of their forebears.
They especially welcome those who are interested
in learning their culture and the relationship
of their art to the community.
Visitors to the area can view with wonder the
traditional ceremonies and cultural dances that
are a natural part of the life-style of the people.

leisure activities or just walking around the
village and observing day-to-day activities of

the experience of the Tabar Islands.
Adventure Activities For those
who would like to swim or snorkel, you cant
beat the water clarity and the variety of coral
fish which are protected here on the reef.
And the fishing just beyond the reef in unbelievable
with a catch of tuna, barracuda or mackerel almost
assured. It is the ideal base for all excursions
to the other islands of the group. Strolling along
the trails on the island provides wonderful opportunities
to view rich rainforests at close quarters. Experience
walking between the towering kwila trees which
provide a perfect canopy for the islands
beautiful birds and multi-coloured butterflies.

Access
To get to Tatau Island, you take a PMV from Kavieng
to Konos (142km) and ferry across to the island
by a fibreglass dinghy. The boat ride takes about
2 hours.

This
brand new guesthouse (2007) is run by Clem Anton,
a qualified divemaster who worked for many years
on live-aboard dive boats that visited this and
other areas during the peak dive season. This
remote island destination in the beautiful Three
Island Harbour area of New Hanover (Lavongai)
is a true escape, and allows visitors to really
experience traditional village, island life.
There are currently 3 traditional-style bungalows,
offering single, twin, double and triple-share
accommodation, with a maximum of 9 guests at any
one time. All meals are provided for, and a traditional
mumu will most always form part of your stay.
Sing-Sings can easily be arranged through groups
from neighbouring islands.
Activities include river trips, trekking, snorkeling,
fishing, and surfing (in season). Clem is a qualified
divemaster, and there are some exceptional dives
very closeby.
At this stage, guests will need to bring all
their own gear, including compressor.
