Puroro Guesthouse (Map
Ref # 17)
Limbin Village
Lelet Plateau
Central New Ireland
Host: Ben Laklan
The
Puroro Guesthouse is in Limbin village - the gateway
to the Lelet Plateau so the weather is cool and
the climate delicious. The turnoff from the Boluminski
Highway is south of Malom village but before Dalom.
It is a steep winding road requiring 4WD for a
lot of the time. The area is famous for producing
all the fresh garden produce for both provincial
centres Kavieng and Namatanai, as well
as Lihir Gold Mine, one of PNGs largest
mining operations.
The Guest House is situated on top of a hill
overlooking the village of Limbin and surrounding
farm land. It has two rooms off the main living
area and another in a newer building out the back.
This guesthouse is quiet and cosy and is in a
very quiet spot perfect for watching the beautiful
sunsets. And being a little more isolated than
the average village the people are extremely friendly.
Oh, and there are no mosquitoes up here!!
